Seaside Business and Professional Group

The Seaside Business and Professional Networking group meets the third Thursday of each month at 7:30 a.m. in the church sanctuary. The format includes networking while enjoying a continental breakfast, and then general introductions, with 30-second commercials presented by dues-paying members of the group.

The first part of the year, special guest speakers were invited to speak, giving timely and valuable programs of a business nature.  These included topics on marketing, income taxes, web site development, and office organization. The second half of the year, the format was changed to allow two members to make 20-minute presentations. The new format adds value to membership by educating the group about the member's business therefore making us better sales and referral representatives for one another.

Dues have been $45 annually with the cost for the breakfast meeting being $5 for members and $10 for guests. There are about 20 members, with 10 to 20 members and guests attending each month.  Only about half the members of the group are members of the church. We promote the meetings through monthly press releases to local newspapers, and flyers in the church and bulletin.

Elaine Lyttleton is stepping down after serving nearly three years as Chair of the group. Dr. Sandy Waters and Helena Babbington are taking over the leadership. These 2 ladies have plenty of energy and new ideas for 2002.  All church members who are in business are encouraged to participate by having listings on the web site, ads in a directory, a perhaps participation in a trade show. So even if you are not a morning person, or a networking advocate, you can still help this ministry and gain exposure for your business. Stay tuned for details!
