The Call

Are you called to new heights of spiritual leadership?

"Each man has his own vocation.  The talent is the call.  There is one direction in which all space is open to him.  He has faculties silently inviting him thither to endless exertion. He is like a ship in a river; he runs against obstructions on every side but one; on that side all obstruction is taken away and he sweeps serenely over God's depths into an infinite sea.  This talent and this call depend on his organization, or the mode in which the general soul incarnates itself in him. He inclines to do something which is easy to him and good when it is done, but which no other man can do. . .

By doing his work he makes the need felt which he can supply.  He creates the taste by which he is enjoyed. He provokes the wants to which he can minister.  By doing his work he unfolds himself."

-Ralph Waldo Emerson

Spiritual Leadership

Unfolding Self

Whether you're a Licensed Practitioner, a Minister, a Science of Mind student or other seeker of truth, you've felt "the call".  Spirit stirs within you, a call to rise above the small self to a higher knowing and practice of spiritual truths.  You may have also felt "the call" to step into a heightened level of spiritual leadership, to become a leader of leaders in the twenty-first century.

The Holmes Institute provides opportunities to:

  • Clarify, cultivate and express your own unique calling.
  • Increase your education in the study of historical and contemporary consciousness.
  • Expand your professional practice as a Licensed Practitioner.
  • Explore and develop alternative ministries and ways of serving, becoming a spiritual leader of leaders.

Paths to Spiritual Leadership

The Holmes Institute is a balanced graduate program dedicated to supporting ministers, teachers and practitioners of Science of Mind who have committed their lives to cultivating spiritually grounded communities throughout the world.  In addition, we offer truth seekers an opportunity to explore some of our courses on a non-credit basis.  Science of Mind has been described by its founder, Dr. Ernest Holmes, as "a correlation of the laws of science, opinions of philosophy and revelations of religion applied to human needs and aspirations of humankind."  At Holmes Institute, we believe the successful spiritual leader must continually integrate his or her own intellectual base of knowledge, devotion and spiritual practices.
