I was born in San Diego, CA to wonderful parents who loved me unconditionally. I enjoyed my early childhood in sunny San Diego. Eventually, my father's career led our family to live in Sweden. There, I attended public school, and it gave me the opportunity to learn Swedish and make many friends. I was given the gift of seeing the world from a perspective that was different from what I had experienced so far. This, however, was only the beginning of my living abroad. My family returned to San Diego, and after I graduated from high school, we moved to Beirut, Lebanon. Life there was unlike anything I had previously encountered. I loved it! Each day was an adventure in embracing something new and exciting. Eventually I returned to Scandinavia; Copenhagen to be exact. While living in Denmark, i was
fortunate to be able to travel to several other countries. I thought I would stay in Copenhagen, but my path led me back to San Diego. I am blessed with three glorious children. One of them lives in Denmark and the other two reside here in California. I am further blessed with Dennis, my wonderful husband. I met Dennis here at Seaside Church and we were married in the magical summer of 1997.
All of my life I have had the feeling that there is something more. The travels and adventures were great, but still... the whisper, the CALL were constantly present. I searched different philosophies, various religions to quell the murmur. I needed to satisfy the CALL. Continuing to be Divinely guided, I showed up at Seaside Church on Mother's
Day, 1995. From the very start, it felt like home. I knew this was a special, reverent space. A place where I could simply be me. I felt the love. I stayed and enrolled in the Foundation class in the fall. I continued with SOM 2 in 1996. That same year I began my practioner studies and graduated in the summer of 1998. I know that being a Religious Science Practioner is a sacred
calling. I feel that the whisper, the Voice led me to being a practioner. I am grateful every day, that I listened to Spirit. Since my graduation, I have assisted Reverend Christian with the Foundation class several times. It is such a joy to see the spiritual growth that each student achieves. When Seaside has Sacred Circles, I am pleased to host a group
meeting in my home. Each group that shows up is perfect and I learn something invaluable from each of the participants. Currently, I serve on the Board for Sacred Space Ministries. I am on the Sunday logistics team and each Sunday I show up at church, not only to hear Reverend Christian's words, but also to visit my Seaside family. I love to greet each person as they arrive. When I lead the congregants in meditation, I feel close to each person. To
"hold the light" during the service is one of my most favorite things to do. I love to pray with each person on the prayer patio, and am honored when I am asked to do so. My ministry is the Bereavement Ministry. Religious Science teaches us that there is not death. There is only change. The ministry is a series of group meetings that meet once a
week for 6-8 weeks. During this time, each person is supported and honored for what they are experiencing. The come to understand their reactions and emotions as they experience them. A safe haven is created for all who attend. A place where each person allows themself to express how they feel. We explore the beliefs of each person regarding their situation. So often, we have taken on the traditional beliefs of society and our upbringing.
Many times those beliefs don't serve us, but without new beliefs to replace them, we are stuck. As we change the beliefs, we can change the way we grieve and can allow ourselves to process our situation and thereby experience healing. It is my sacred honor to serve as a Religious Science Practioner at Seaside Church. I continue to live each day in
the light of Spirit and the light of Spirit shines through me, as me. Return to Main Practitioner Page Top of Page |
